Take Control Of Your Diabetes

“Healthy eating is an essential part of managing diabetes, just as important as taking any prescribed diabetes medications and being active regularly”

Diabetes affects over 1.2 million people in Australia, with Type 2 Diabetes making up to 85-90% of those people with Diabetes. Diabetes is a progressive disease that when not managed well will get worse, it can lead to complications such as kidney disease, stroke, heart disease, foot problems including amputation, eye problems, and circulation issues and in 2018 was the 7th leading cause of death in Australia.

While these statistics sound scary the good news is that Diabetes Australia reports that up to 58% of Type 2 Diabetes can be prevented through diet and lifestyle changes and with early diagnosis and intervention, making healthy food choices, maintaining healthy weight and regular exercise people with diabetes can live a life free from diabetic complications.

Healthy eating is an essential part of managing diabetes, just as important as taking any prescribed diabetes medications and being active regularly.
